Mossman Memorial Bowls Club 6-8 Johnston Road Mossman

Seafood Trio $24 With Salad Bar Steak Sandwich $15 With Chips Rothbury Estate Sauvignon Blanc $10.95 Schooner of Cascade Light & glass of claret $13 Total = $62.95 Whilst similar to the lunch at Rattle & Hum in Port Douglas (last post) the price for this lunch is in marked contrast by $48. A lot of this is to do with the price of wine. Why it has to be so expensive in Port Douglas is not clear.

Rattle & Hum 38 Macrossan Street

Seafood Rattler $34 Fresh local prawn, a crumbed prawn cutlet, a natural oyster, beer battered Spanish Mackerel, salt & pepper Barramundi, crumbed Calamari, chips, salad and Rattle's own dipping sauces Steak Sandwich $18.5 Marinated rib fillet served on toasted Turkish bread with lettuce and tomato, caramelised onion, beetroot,  melted cheese and BBQ sauce served with chips Schooner of light beer $12 , glass of claret $7.5 and a bottle of Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc $36 Overall our lunch was OK except for the price of the wine which should be under $30. The salad was tired and the crumbed prawns would have not been missed.  What would enhance the Seafood Rattler is more lemon, a finger bowl and a small bowl to put the oyster shell, prawn shell bits and the prawn tails. The Steak Sandwich was good. See the next post for a similar lunch in Mossman but $48 cheaper.
