Port Douglas & District Combined Clubs (Tin Shed)

Breakfast on Sundays from 8 o'clock Eggs Benedict..............$12.90 Omelette...............$11.90 Port Douglas has some excellent restaurants for breakfast in Macrossan Street, the marina or the Port Douglas and District Combined Clubs. What is so good about the club is it's value for money. We lunched there last Friday and found the lunch value was just as good. Seafood Basket...............$25 Salt & Pepper Calamari..........$23 Just as important is the price of wine: I think for lunch time a bottle for $24 is about right. LURE Restaurant and Bar

Boardwalk dining option. Cocktails. Savings Passport. LURE at Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina  is one of our favourite eateries and that you can get a 10% discount for the total bill makes it one of the most affordable dining options in Port Douglas. For instance 1/2 dozen oysters for $10 at Saturday lunch time comes out at $9. Calamari, Oysters and Smoked Salmon Burger In the last fortnight we have had lunch at LURE three times, the food is good and the price is right. Savings Passport are available at most tour desks: More at Port Douglas Cheap Eats >

I was the local writer, the editor was based in Brisbane and had visited Port Douglas once before. Sound familiar? We have dined at Lure for breakfast which was about as good as it can get and yesterday we had lunch. Starting with ice cold light Great Northern draft.  Studying the menu takes time and as there was a cruise ship in I tried to speed things up. I needn't have worried because the service was on the mark despite the marina being packed, the b
